fresh calcium bentonite

Welcome to The Mineral of A Thousand Uses!

Montana Bentonite and American Health Minerals are very pleased to be back and better than ever! We have been blessed with resources that we have not previously expressed and so with this new website we will be posting lab data on and information about these natural health minerals for your consideration.

(You can shut off the music and the bouncing cubes flash with the buttons in the upper right corner.)

Montana Bentonite and American Health Minerals Vision:

All-American Christian-based and environmentally responsible all-natural mineral health products and support for people, animals and our environment. We especially recognize our responsibilities for energy-efficiency and utilization of alternative energies, keeping open hearts and minds to inclusion of human and environmental needs, and to financial frugality.

We are on a new Mission: to help people with true, valid information and to understand the differences in bentonites and to offer everyone the best prices anywhere for the best calcium bentonite and all-natural health mineral products. It's quite a mountful, but there is even more to come!

We at Montana Bentonite and American Health Minerals recognize that we are charged with stewardship of an incredible resource that God has created and placed here. This story began some 65 million years ago. Not a one of us was around to have any idea of what was going to be. Now in our brief existence, people are only beginning to understand the significance and potential benefits of this calcium bentonite clay.

Montana Bentonite, LLC is a member of The Clay Minerals Society (www.cms.org), which is the premier scientific body around the world for study and literature of clay resources. We rely on them for sound science and highly recommend them as a resource to you.

Please be aware that our calcium bentonite is NOT the swelling form of the clay. That is sodium bentonite. Sodium bentonite is a related mineral clay which is produced primarily for industrial purposes such as well-drilling mud. It is not produced and tested for human and animal applications (other than kitty litter), but is is mistakenly promoted and sold for such to an un-knowing public. True and valid information remains as scarce as ever about bentonites in general and this calcium bentonite form in particular.

We will be posting more information about the forms of bentonite, but for now please understand that the label comes from the predominant cation present in the resource: calcium, sodium or magnesium. Yes- there also is a magnesium bentonite, but to date not much is done with it.

Another current example of the misinformation available is calling "french green clay" green bentonite. There is no such thing. The reason that this clay is green is that is has a different chemical composition and is therefore not bentonite. Briefly- the iron molecule in bentonite has migrated from the edge of the cell structure into the body of the cell. This is what changes the diffraction pattern and results in a different identity. Our American Green Clay we are pleased to report as being nontronite. This is also a smectite clay (same family as bentonite, of course) and is an organic clay, a mineral clay and a healing clay.

This past Year (2010) a presentation was made of the NASA study of smectites/montmorillonites on Mars!: http://wn.com/nontronite is a video presentation by World News.
Origin of life and bentonites, nontronites and koalitines on Mars? What could be going on here?

For both human and animal treatments, you need to know the mineral composition of the material you are, or will be, using. Our lab reports are posted on the materials pages. Some "snake-oil" internet sales sites even claim that trace minerals are not naturally contained in bentonites, but must be the result of additives. This is not only nonsense, but in our opinion very likely an attempt to trick an un-aware person into buying and using an unsuitable material- for a potentially dangerous result. Highly unethical; buyer beware. There are additional red-flags that we will be publishing to assist buyers with getting the right materials and all-natural products for your better health needs.

Organic trace minerals are bio-available. Calcium bentonite is naturally colloidal and naturally chelated. Don't be distracted by chelation therapy- that's not really true. Chelated minerals are bio-available which means that the body can extract them as the metabolic system chooses.

X-Ray Florescence [XR(F)] testing we have done by ICAL in the physics lab at the Montana State University: www.physics.montana.edu, but this would probably be prohibitively expensive for  individual consumers purposes.

We will continue to provide scientific facts and valid information regarding both our calcium bentonite, specialty clays and related minerals in recognition of the pervasive need for such throughout this new and also continuing-to-develop internet technology.

Thank you for your interest in this God-granted natural resource and for your participation in natural products and natural health and wellness.

Smectite clays and bentonites, in particular, continue to be studied for "Origin of Life" and worked in nanotechnology and applications.

Skinny plants need more calcium! Calcium bentonite provides organic nutrients and trace minerals for healthy plants. Healthy plants resist diseases and insects better. Try it- they'll like it!

For environmental and agricultural applications: calcium is an alkaline earth. Sodium is an alkaline metal. They behave differently in the soil environment. Soil scientists can advise beyond our capabilities. We know from experience that both calcium bentonite (clay) and our ashen silt (non-clay) are very good supplements for plant growth. Both calcium bentonite and volcanic ash are organic providers of plant nutrients and trace minerals. The primary question is whether your soil needs the binder properties of clay for the root-to-soil interface or just the trace minerals to feed the plants. The nutrient and trace mineral profiles of our bentonite and ashen silt are very similar.
Some areas of our Montana agricultural lands are less-than-optimal for being sodic or being overly drained alluvial till. This sandy, gravelly ground does not have sufficient small particle content for moisture retention and good root-to-soil interface for nutrient uptake. Both rain and irrigation simply pass through such ground and even damage the growth potential by leaching the nutrients down past the root zone. Sodic soils leach their sodium both up to the surface and away in surface moisture, speading the excess sodium. Such land can benefit markedly with amendment of even very small addition of clay or ashen silt.

Calcium bentonite is the digestive aid clay for Koi, as well as benefiting goldfish and all other pond aquatics. Caclium bentonite helps maintain a healthy aqautic environment by precipitating metals and toxins and by providing nurtients and trace minerals for plants, frogs and fish! Koi in particular benefit from having calcium bentonite available to them. With having no stomach, per se, these fish do not retain food in their digestive system for very long and so the bentonite helps them in pulling nutrients from the food and into their metabolism. Ponds need buffers and fresheners that pull ammonias and toxins from the water.

Our C. Ben. pellets are natural pellets, not reconstituted powder, so they don't just dissolve, but stay together longer and do not cloud the water.

An important priority for Montana Bentonite and American Health Minerals is to develop our business affiliations. We have signed a Joint Venture with Kings Counsel to support development of an array of socially and environmentally-conscious venture opportunities. Our asset resource is big enough and valuable enough to not only provide materials and products for many, many years to come, but also to provide financial leverage for development of faith-based economic and business opportunities. Montana Bentonite and American Health Minerals are proud to relate our commitment to Fourth Sector, sustainable business principles. We have completed our initial B Corporation assessment and look forward to engaging this guidance through our ongoing development and the development of our associates. Links to these resource are given below and we endorse them to you for your consideration.

The dynamic markets for natural products continue to be impressive. Even through the economic downturn and turmoil, use of natural materials for human health, wellness and cosmetic cares has seen growth and expansion. The scientific basis continues to substantiate the values of natural materials, coupled with lesser concerns for side effects than derived or artificial compounds.

If you have involvement with or interest in participating in natural products, organic, colloidal, naturally-chelated minerals such as these clays we present may be attractive. We have much to offer with our future and current position. We are open to discussion and consideration of business and investing partners.
