Calcium Bentonite Pet and Livestock Care

Animals do have their ways of getting in need of assistance, don't they. Everything from calf scours and "failure to thrive" to wounds from other animals and barbed wire. Bullet wounds?- OK, sometimes. Who you gonna call?

Well- having some of this calcium bentonite on hand is a good first aid resource. Calcium bentonite is classed as U.S.D.A. organic approved under Section 205.600(a) of Subpart G of their Administrative Code. Calcium bentonite will not compromise any organic animal or herbal plant raising concerns. Calcium bentonite is, still, an eye and lung irritant, so be careful with excessive dust.

 Natural Animal Care

Natural is best because just like with us people, fewer complications. The KISS rule. Even modern animal feeds have chemicals in them to where it is not possible to know of undesirable side effects. And the animal can't just tell us how it feels. We can only surmise by observation and some (usually expensive) testing when indicated. Animals, too, have allergies and sensitivities. The environmental pollutants affect them more than us because they're out in it all the time. How's the fertilizing going? Using more and enjoying it less? That's the way with applied artificials. Not to be critical- it's our modern world that we're surrounded by. Calcium bentonite for pet and livestock care is a large piece of "The Natural Solution".

Here's a tool you (and your animals) can live with: calcium bentonite. It pulls toxins and pollutants like free-radicals away from the body. Kills bacterias. Starts and promotes the healing processes. Protects wounds from infections. Calcium bentonite does its' work topically or internally and then goes away. No residual effects. You can wash it out as needed for wound inspection and drying whenever you want. Bentonite wound care couldn't be easier.

I am not personally familial with this, but I understand that calcium bentonite is also used for hot hoof treatment of horses.

Our Pet and Livestock products are made with 100 mesh calcium bentonite- the same clay as our Personal Care bentonite, but at a slightly larger particle size cutoff. This is to allow a little more body to the clay for applications in hair or fur so that it will go down to the skin and stay a little more strongly.

If using our bentonite for internal treatment or as a digestive aid, do not overdo it until you gain experience with the particular animal your caring for. They also are individuals. I suggest about 2% to 5% clay addition to feed weight as a start level, with 10% being a maximum for short term use. If you're dealing with a diarrhea or scours condition give the clay at about 1 teaspoon per hundred weight in two hour intervals with milk so that the animal will swallow it. If you do not see improvement in a day discontinue this treatment. Of course, consult with your veterinarian. Yes, you can use the 200 mesh bulk powder if you wish. It will work just fine.

Calcium Bentonite Koi Clay

Our clay is commonly used for both Koi and goldfish. We offer powder, but recommend fine and medium sized granules. Both koi and goldfish will mouth the clay pellets to bite and ingest the clay for their digestion, as well as having the clay active in the water neutralizing acidity and adsorbing toxins and other foreign matter to remove them from the water. Koi digestion I don't understand except that they do not have a stomach, per se. You can tell by watching, but in general, you will want the larger pellets for larger fish. We can get you a supply of really larger pellets if your fish have grown towards a foot long. You can use the bulk calcium bentonite powder if you prefer fine clay. One thing I have noticed is that the fine powder will cloud the water for a while and will collect over time in the filter.

Native fish also benefit from calcium bentonite. In both fishing and irrigation ponds calcium bentonite will neutralize pH and aid in toxins control. The mineral nutrients support healthy aquatic plants and invertebrates for a healthy environment.yes- as with the previous pet and livestock information, you can use the finer grades of calcium bentonite for your fish if you prefer. It will work just fine.

Animal care, just like with us humans, requires recognizing and acounting for individual differences and the variabilities in the conditions that they may be, or are apparently, undergoing. Assisting an ailing and hurting animal can be more challenging than assisting a similarly ailing and hurting person. They can't just talk to us. I do appreciate your intents and efforts. Please be invited to contact us if we can be of further assistance to you.
